I have worked in agricultural settings since I was young. I am well experienced in handling wildlife and plants. I enjoy working outdoors and have no problem trekking through difficult terrain to work sites. I have experience operating machinery and am willing to drive to distant work sites. I additionally have experience in conducting research and assisting research of others.
I assisted in trapping, tagging, and data collection of wood ducks and mourning doves. I also received certifications for wildland fire fighting through working for the KDFWR. I am still currently working on a volunteer basis for the KDFWR office out of Campbellsville Ky.
I am currently researching freshwater fish communities associated with Podostemum Sp. aquatic plant beds in comparison with Potomogeton Sp. beds in the Green River. Fish sampling is being conducted via the use of seines and backpack electrofishing. I intend to publish this research when completed.
I have been assisting in data collection of salamander species via handling measurements and observations as well as continued monitoring and maintenance of traps.
I performed trail maintenance and land management at Bernheim Forest including chainsaw operation, tractor operation, and blazing of trails. I additionally assisted in bat emergence counts and placement and retrieval of trail cameras.
I assisted in the data collection and tagging of birds for the MAPS Program (Monitoring Avian Productivity and Survivorship) at Mammoth Cave National Park. I accompanied and assisted researchers from various institutions with their studies in the cave and on the park. I also assisted in retrieving and maintaining dye trace bugs and datasondes inside the cave and on the Green River with researchers from the WKU geosciences program. Additionally, I received stop the bleed and CPR training while working for the NPS.
