Josh De Luca

As a student contributor for the "Viking Sports Network", North Park University's athletic website, I work hand in hand with NPU SID, Tyler Woolbright. Any given day, my job is to provide coverage of the university's athletic teams. I have written game recaps for multiple sports, in addition to providing play-by-pay/color commentary for the JV football games.

As a sports intern for the Journal & Topics Newspapers in Des Plaines, I was thrown into the fire immediately, conducting various interviews and putting together feature stories with a variety of our local high school and professional teams. In just over 3 months, I was able to contribute 40+ articles to the publication's newspapers and/or website.

I received the privilege to make content for the “North Park Hoops Experience”, a joint Substack profile created by veteran journalist and NPU alum Gordon Edes. As a contributor I was responsible for interviewing players and coaches throughout the 2023-24 season, while producing both feature and game recap stories. We followed the Vikings 2023-24 season religiously, in an attempt to highlight one of Division III's top basketball programs.
