Work History

Welder

Harris Machine Company
Aberdeen, SD
08.2020 - Current

I weld heavy steel for various customers and products, specializing in heavy-duty welding. My job is to ensure the highest standards of weld and post-weld quality are met or exceeded. A key part of my role is understanding blueprints, weld symbols, and the company’s SWIs for the tacking, welding, and final processes of each part. I work closely with the quality department and supervisors to make sure my personal quality and standards meet or surpass company expectations. I’ve received positive feedback from both the quality department and supervisors for my welding, post-weld work, and reviewing others’ work. I’ve also been praised for fixing defects from the robot and correcting others’ work that doesn’t meet quality standards by applying the correct procedures to reduce shipment delays. Additionally, I’ve worked with new employees to help train them on welding various products to meet company standards. I’ve accomplished this by maintaining high-quality standards, staying open to learning, and collaborating with the quality team and supervisors to be the best.

Welder/Metal Fabricator

Twin City Fan
Aberdeen, SD
10.2020 - 08.2023

I built various types of fans, from small to large, and was responsible for reading blueprints and building different products according to them. My work included tacking and welding, understanding weld symbols, and fabricating fan parts, which was common. I marked out parts using measurement indicators and fabricated them using plasma cutting, shearing, grinding, cutting, hole punching, bead forming machines, rotating machines for plasma cutting, and the drill press. By my first year, I was in charge of my area, training new employees on building, fabricating, work processes, and standards. I also handled rejected work that didn’t meet company standards. I worked my way up to handling more complex fabrication, learning to weld aluminum and stainless steel in addition to mild steel, and did quite a bit of welding in all three materials. In my second year, I was on track to move up in the welding department, taking on more difficult products to weld and fabricate. By the second half of my second year into my third year, I was among the top 10 welders, working on high-value products and on track to become a team lead. I welded mild steel, stainless steel, and aluminum on high-end products, achieving this through my high-quality welding and post-welding standards, eagerness to learn, and strong work ethic. My supervisors gave me positive feedback on work ethic, product delivery, and weld quality across all materials
