Joseph Avalos has devoted over 27 years to serving the citizens of Los Angeles. He currently serves as the Director at the Mayor's Office of Public Safety and the Crisis Response Team (CRT). Under Joseph Avalos' leadership, the CRT has evolved from a peripheral department into a crucial strategic partner with various agencies, including the Los Angeles Police Department, Los Angeles Fire Department, Office of Emergency Management, Federal Bureau of Investigation, and Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department. The CRT program is unique in the United States and has received national recognition, with other cities showing interest in adopting similar initiatives to support victims affected by traumatic incidents.
