Josh Thompson

I am an employee of four years in Surgical Pathology at Mayo Clinic , starting as a Lab Assistant before advancing into a position as a Surgical Pathology Tech followed by an advancement to an ASCP certified HTL upon completion of the Histology Technologist program here at Mayo. I have since moved forward into a Lead HTL in Frozen Section, becoming part of the management team in Surgical Pathology and working closely with my fellow coworkers as well as Pathologists Assistants and Pathologists. I am now pursuing the next step in my career here in Surgical Pathology as an Assistant Supervisor. I am constantly striving to push myself and continue to grow in my career here in Surgical Pathology driven by an ever growing passion for the field as well as the pride I take in providing patients with the answers they are looking for as well as the best possible outlook on life. I have built a strong core foundation of knowledge as well as skills desired within Surgical Pathology via both time and experience in the lab working the many roles offered as well as continuing my education to become a certified HTL and giving myself the opportunities to continue to advance further down my career pathway here in Surgical Pathology.
