When hired at Tomco, I realized very quickly there was room for improvement in many areas. No production flow chart, production schedule, process for how tooling was purchased, maintenance records, and formal training process, to name a few. In 18 months, we as a team have implemented a production schedule for assembly, machining, and final processes 6 months in advance. We now have a extensive formal training process for all new employees from day 1 to 90. Our tooling process that I implemented has improved machining productivity by 30% over the past 9 months. All processes and improvements together have increased our productivity and through-put by 45% over the past 12 month.
