Joshua Berk (44) is a motivated, self-driven individual who has consistently proven himself in many arenas, after years of working for the highly successful Fox Restaurant Concepts some that include ZinBurger, TRUE FOOD, Modern Steak, Sauce & NoRTH. It was here that Berk adopted and absorbed the overall vision of Sam Fox and partner/Executive Chef Christopher Christian’s successful design of restaurant concepts; food quality and the ability to 'feed the masses' by having restaurant regulars come in 5 out of 7 days instead of a once in every quarter dining experience. Berk has since become a protégé of owner Sam Fox. Berk’s affinity for the restaurant business is clearly seen in his desire to excel. Due to his focus on offering exemplary service to each and every customer he comes in contact with. Berk holds the record for highest per server sales over the company’s existence. A part of the original staff which opened NoRTH in Scottsdale’s Kierland Commons, Berk was offered a management position within his first year at NoRTH. Soon thereafter, Berk was offered the opportunity to open NoRTH in Tucson; Fox wisely chose to utilize his dynamic role-model leadership abilities and sales strategies. Going above and beyond the norm, Berk also held a position as Account Executive at Food & Life magazine for three years. Berk utilized this opportunity not only to expand his business contacts, but also to experience a wide array of restaurants, gathering invaluable information and develop a strong working relationship with Editor-in-Chief Candy Lesher, a James Beard Panelist, inductee to the Culinary Hall of Fame and host of Food & Life Television. Always striving to excel, Berk landed the highest recorded sale for the company (F&L), a record that has yet to be broken. A graduate of Northern Arizona University’s Interior Design school in 2004, Berk launched and is co-owner of Berk Design Group, LLC, in Scottsdale. Berk Design Group has established a strong foundation of clients throughout the Valley and Southern California with their 'living through design' approach to Modern/Contemporary design (http://berkdesigngroup.com/). In the Spring of 2010, Berk co-founded LUSH Burger (http://lushburgeraz.com/) in North Scottsdale. A fast-casual concept boasting a visually enticing modern atmosphere, the menu focused on high quality burgers created from single sourced, hormone free beef from Harris Ranch. The appealing menu was supported by exemplary service in a modern atmosphere. Following this venture, Berk partnered with Demetriades and co-founded Parc Central (http://parccentralrestaurants.com/) within the Scottsdale Quarter. Parc Central was a 7,100 sq. ft restaurant/lounge delivering 'Progressive American Cuisine' to the Arizona market. The menu was based around international dishes that were creatively prepared with a decidedly-American twist. Unfortunately, due to the recession and poor timing Parc Central served its last meal in June 2011. Never one to shy from a challenge Berk became a part of Pita Jungle Concepts,LLC an Arizona driven concept that has been around since 1994. It was here that he decided to take on more responsibilities in growing their catering division. Due to his ongoing relationships, he has cultivated throughout the years he was able to grow the Scottsdale division tremendously bringing an additional 20% to the bottom line while building a team underneath him replicating his business model within different company owned stores. Today, Berk is extremely active in the community whether it be mentoring his friend Jeff Schottmuller who deals with Aspergers a functioning form of Autism or tinkering with new online businesses he's created (http://www.agoge.com).
