Hux Cancer Center - Union Hospital, Terre Haute, OH, United States of America Volunteer, Kelsey Kinney
I greeted patients and their families into the the Hux Cancer Center, assisted patients in navigating the hospital, and organized charts. I typically spoke with patients waiting to be seen or with family waiting on a treatment to finish. This experience helped me gain a deeper level of empathy and understanding of what cancer patients and their families go through, and it continued to instill my hope in the healthcare system as I saw patients celebrate their remission.
