My name is Joshua Evangelista, a recently graduated student from Palm Desert High School. While I currently do not have official work experience under an employer, I do have a variety of volunteer experience in different environments which I believe have allowed me to gain desirable traits in a work environment. I believe my strongest traits are my flexibly/adaptability to new situations, my ability to work in a team setting, and my ability to problem solve. Served as the secretary for Palm Desert High School's Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) club for two years. As secretary I was tasked with keeping a detailed record of every bi-weekly meeting, recording details such as attendance for meetings and events, the club's future agenda, and any obstacles that needed to be addressed by the board hindering the progression of said agenda. As a member of the 4 person board, I was responsible for showing up and participating at any volunteer/FBLA associated activity and had mandatory attendance for any meetings called forth by the president or vice president.
A position holding member of the Community Outreach Club (volunteering based club) for two years, holding the title as Director of Membership for one year. As Director of Membership I was tasked with keeping track of attendance for the club's weekly meetings, aiding in tracking the volunteer hours for over 40 members, and had mandatory attendance at all volunteering events (activities could range from volunteering at FIND Food Bank to helping out at the local elementary school Halloween event).
A member of the Palm Desert High School Interact Club, a club focusing on providing volunteers for Palm Desert's Rotary Club. Activities included volunteering at FIND Food Bank, aiding the Rotary Club serve breakfast during the 5k, aiding the hosts of the Rotary Gala meant to feature disabled individuals, and other events sponsored by the Palm Desert Rotary.
Aided with the various activities instructed by volunteer management and the senior volunteers. Some of these tasks included rotating shifts as secretary for the errand room, transferring incoming patients to their designated rooms, transferring outgoing patients from their rooms to their vehicle, carrying out flower and gift deliveries to patients, sanitizing equipment such as wheelchairs and baskets, carrying out discrete sanitation checks on Eisenhower employees and reporting back to management. As a volunteer under Eisenhower volunteers were expected to comply with HIPAA standards regarding patient information confidentiality and to comply with Eisenhower sanitation expectations.
