Launching, Staffing, Training, and Overseeing multi a multi store F&I Department. Planning, executing, and exceeding performance standards while providing sales and interpersonal closing tools, skills and training for new and aspiring Business Managers. Managing and teaching game plans for success. Teaching and showing how to use valuable skills and experience to maximize performance in a practical and efficient way in the Finance Department. Mentoring my team members on how to succeed, thrive and enjoy their positions in a demanding dealership setting. Managing and demonstrating how to elevate new performance standards while getting comfortable working outside one's comfort zone and having fun doing it. Teaching and showing how to flourish in a career in the automotive business, specifically as it pertains to all duties of the F&I Department and it's many sales, administrative, and legal obligations and responsibilities. All this, while protecting an Owner's and Managing Partner's assets.
Laid the foundation for what is now a highly profitable and efficient variable sales departments at the Jay Wolfe Acura Location in Kansas City. During this time I established my skills as a creative and aggressive Business Manager. Not just in the Finance Departments but also assisting and training our frontline Sales Managers how to be strategic in deal planning, negotiations, and client relations. While focusing on guiding my team members to new heights, I also negotiated and implemented new lender relations and partnerships with new product providers and organized and streamlined the sales and finance processes to maximize not just profitability, but efficiency and client and staff satisfaction.
Performed all duties of a F&I Manager with multiple stores and brands within the Wolfe Automotive Group. Brands such as Toyota, Volkswagen, Nissan, Honda, Acura, Chevrolet, and Saturn. During this time I honed my skills as a Finance Manager and gained invaluable experience with a diverse mix of Automotive Brands and clientele. I worked in all areas of the Kansas City metropolitan area. From the west side to the East, North Kansas City down to south Overland Park I commuted daily as not just the primary Finance Manager at several locations I also "Floated" daily to cover all Finance Departments with our Saturn locations. I saw and successfully worked with all various mixes of clientele and brands, giving me an excellent perspective and knowledge of the various differences in local markets and client needs and expectations. I am now the last remaining Finance Specialist that successfully completed Jay Wolfe's Resource Automotive Finance and compliance training and an approximately 1 year long Finance Specialist role working in most of the Jay Wolfe Automotive Groups stores.
Successfully sold and leased New and Pre-Owned vehicles. Earned Honda's Council of Sales Excellence Silver level in my second year in automotive retail sales along with high rankings and special recognition for customer service and product and process knowledge. This is where I was introduced to the Finance Department and it's workings and responsibilities. I was recommended to pursue a roll in Finance by my superiors and fellow team members as I showed great potential for growth and further success as a leader and Manager.
Earned my stripes so to speak as I learned the basics in automotive sales and customer relations. As a young man I was introduced to the challenging world of car sales and customer and dealer interactions and negotiations. I thrived on my product knowledge and attention to detail. Constant follow up and my given skills in rapport building allowed me to take a quick spot at the top of the sales leaderboard and help out little dealership earn Honda's President's Award for excellence. A rare feat for that store given it's size and location and limited marketing capabilities.
I take great pride in being part of and mentored by both an older generation of car dealers and the younger, more innovative dealership staff to know and understand the pros and cons of all aspects of retail car sales. New and old. All the while being of the age to grow, learn and see the industry change and grow from the old ways and processes into the internet age and modern automobile retailing. Embracing the client focused directive, dealer transparency and efficiency as products, technology and legal standards evolved into today's auto industry as we know it.
