  • Erecting Iron girders, beams, columns,. Building pipe racks compressor shelters. Installing cantilevers. All done using manlifts to access steel connections. Pushing, pulling and prying steel using spud wrenches, sleeves bars, sledge hammers, ect. Laying out detailed fittings using hand tools such as framing squares, punches, soap stone tape measures, to be either drilled with mag drill, cut with torch, welded. Also cutting with torch, band saw, grinder for preparation of fittings. Forming assembly line for bents to be hung then connected with tie in. Bull rigging steel into position for appropriate connections using chain falls, comealongs, snatch blocks, wire rope slings up to 1"1/4, synthetic nylon and poly, 2", 3", 4", 6". Maintaining 100% tie off while of of the ground using harness and tool tethering. Communicating with scaffolding to maintain quality access points to steel. Giving descriptive details on how the access points need to be placed in order to create safe work environment. Assisting in performing critical lifts such as 20+ to pick. The pick consisted of preassembled steel for portions of the top of a compressor shelter. Flagging crane operator into position using radios also hand signals. Assisting in rigging pipe into position using Bull rigging equipment to then set on rollers. Laying grading and decking into position. Joining the grading down to beams using screw down clips.
