• Changing Gears program, I obtained this research position the same year that I was admitted to the University of Michigan
• In this position, my task was to assist with creating metadata for a German periodical from the mid-19th Century known as the Deutsche Rundschau, and use my educational background in German to create metadata for the tables of contents in the different volumes of the Rundschau
• The Changing Gears program culminated with a symposium in which we had to create a large poster with information about our project, and what we had accomplished
• My research was overseen by Professor Peter McIsaac (pmcisaac@umich.edu) at the University of Michigan - Ann Arbor

• Loaded and unloaded truck trailers with both gas and electric forklifts
• Was responsible for paperwork, keeping track of incoming and outgoing parts
• Used Blackberry devices running custom software to scan parts
• Arrived first and left last at employer's request to turn power on/off at start and end of shift

• Stayed over 4 years, starting in high school and continuing while I attended college.
