In the 3 1/2 years I've been at Horn Electric I started fresh out of trade school as a helper with very minimal knowledge. The first mechanic I got paired with was very good with actually wanting to teach and help me learn as fast as possible. Upon his departure to a new company I started receiving small solo calls for the company to be able to see what I could handle myself and for the last year and a half I have been in my own truck running my own jobs ranging from service calls, fixture installation, and wiring new construction residential with 1-2 helpers of my own depending on the size and scope of the job.
