Work History

Guidance, Navigation, and Control Engineer

Lockheed Martin Space
Huntsville, AL
02.2022 - Current
  • Integrated various guidance and autopilot units into missile flight software and simulation frameworks
  • Performed Monte-Carlo simulations to demonstrate statistical performance of autopilot and guidance algorithms
  • Developed vehicle control algorithms for sensor pointing and bright object exclusion
  • Assisted in integration of existing heritage interceptor steering algorithms, such gravity turn steering and proportional navigation, into guidance loop
  • Developed state-machine for enforcing mission con-ops, responsible for behavior such as steering modes, and stage/nose fairing separation
  • Developed numerous truth side models for vehicle actuators and sensors

Simulation Engineer

Peraton (Formerly Northrop Grumman)
06.2020 - 01.2022
  • Developed C++ simulation software for testing Aegis Weapon System and for training sailors to use the system
  • Modeled adversaries missile behaviors based on feedback from MDA SMEs for use in training simulation
  • Deployed and tested software at various customer sites
  • Trained operators at various sites to use simulation software

Student Trainee

NSWC Dahlgren, SLBM
Dahlgren, VA
05.2017 - 12.2019
  • Analyzed and evaluated Trident II Missile performance
  • Implemented 3DoF spent stage and debris simulation
  • Developed generic 3DoF Missile Sim in C++ for use of trade studies

Education

Skills

  • Agile Methodology
  • undefined

    Accomplishments

    • CFD Semester Project: Wrote a Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) program in C++ to solve for the flow in a square, lid-driven cavity using 2D, incompressible Navier-Stokes equations with time derivative preconditioning and artificial viscosity. The program used a Point Jacobi method with second-order accurate forward and central difference algorithms to advance the discretized equations forward in time with adaptive time stepping
    • NASA Senior Design Project: First place in the National NASA Aeronautics Design Challenge 2019-2020. Participated in a small group to design a fully autonomous system to deliver package in an urban environment. Our Design, the RAAVEN, surpassed NASA’s expectations by providing a Systems Engineering perspective to aerial package delivery while leveraging our aeronautical expertise to design a superior product.
