Respond to known and unknown emergency calls with minimal response time.
Upon arrival at fire location, relays fire conditions, life hazards and exposures to commanding officer.
Examine fire structures for any signs of fire extension and determine the safest evacuation route for occupants.
Observe and respond to changes in conditions at the fire scene.
Make forcible entry when required. Remove persons from entrapments or hazardous situations.
Recognize conditions that may lead to back-draft.
Control public utilities; position aerial ladders or platforms; climb or descend ladders, carry hose lines and/or equipment; and make openings for ventilation and perform overhaul operations.
