Successstory

A good success story I have would be the time I had to solve a problem with a resident we have at our building and her husband. He came to my nurse and was very angry and upset about his wife's food not being to her liking and her proper diet not being followed. After thinking he could not get it fixed with my nurse he then came to my office and spoke to me about the incident. After letting him vent I told him that in order to fix this whole situation we needed to get on the same page and de-escalate the situation. He then apologized and we began to discuss ways I could resolve the problem. He told me if you would just make sure she doesn’t get any meat on her breakfast tray and only has oatmeal, coffee, and fruit I would be very happy. My response was that would be no problem at all, and I would personally make sure I lay eyes on her tray every morning to make sure this never happens again and he was thrilled to hear that. He then proceeded to tell me that having someone take the time to listen to his concerns was what made him happy the most. He then told me that all he wanted was to be an advocate for his wife that she would get the best care she could. I said well thank you for letting me know that and I'm glad I could help. She is still in our building to this day and every time he sees me he expresses his gratitude for getting that situation handled.
