Summary

I have 20 years of experience in potable water system maintenance, operation, installation and repair. My first 5-years were with underground pipeline contractors performing a variety of water, sewer, and storm water line installations. For 8-years, I worked with the City of Clovis, CA as a Utility Worker providing operation and maintenance to the City's surface water treatment facility and potable water distribution system. I worked my way up within the City of Clovis and obtained a full-time position in the Water Department and 2 years, I worked in the Wastewater Department. I was able to get promoted to Maintenance Worker and stayed in the water distribution side for City of Clovis. I have been employed with Sacramento Area Sewer District for the past 7 years. Currently I am a crew lead on the north swing shift call truck. I am taking the next step to better myself in taking the the chance to become a Sanitation Maintenance and Operation Senior Technician.

Sanitation Maintenance and Operation Technician

  • As a Technician, I have work both on day shift and swing shift schedules
  • I started out doing hydro excavating for construction to expose utilities so construction crews can safely excavate
  • I was on dayshift call truck, preforming everything from routine lateral cleaning and inspections to handling various service calls ranging from replacing a sewer box cover to spills and dig ups
  • I also did 6 months in the easement cart department
  • In that time, I was able to become Pre-Checker qualified and I was able to take upgrades for call truck, street hydros and easement cart departments
  • I have been able to precheck a wide range of service calls from safety and plumber calls to Spills and emergency dig ups
  • I got the opportunity to be trained using the lateral launch TV trucks so that I have been able to utilize that equipment during swing shift
  • Currently I am working the winter swing shift
  • I have been able to take upgrades and also being pre-checker qualified, I have been able to assist the senior tech when calls get busy or if they are tied up on a complex service call, I am able to step in and assist.

  • I have experience is using the lateral camera and locating equipment
  • For emergency calls, I have experience with a variety electric, air and gas power tools and equipment, jack hammers, saws, pumps, generators, rodding machines and soil compacting equipment
  • Currently I am learning on how to operate a lateral launch van
  • Occasionally I am upgraded to crew lead and I am competent at using Maximo and Arcpad.

Maintenance Worker - Water Department

  • I did Park maintenance from mowing, edging, bush and tree pruning to herbicide application, irrigation maintenance
