Experienced mechanic specialized in Turbo prop aircraft with a strong focus on safety. Proficient in electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and communication systems. Consistently demonstrates responsibility, reliability, and exceptional performance in all assigned tasks.
Primarily responsible to maintain, overhaul, repair and inspect the highly modified and instrumented WP-3D aircraft. Troubleshoot and analyze aircraft system problems that may involve mechanical, electronic, and/or avionics components. Install, align, modifies and adjusts the various aircraft systems, sub-assemblies and surfaces according to specifications in repair and manufacturer's manuals, as well as other engineering specifications as required by the specialized nature of on-board equipment. Perform general maintenance, major and minor scheduled inspections and on-condition inspections. Perform major and minor modifications and repairs. Service all aircraft systems as required by the airframe and powerplant manufacturer maintenance manuals. Periodically weigh aircraft and compute weight and balance as necessary to ensure proper loading. Adapt personal skills to other aircraft as needed due to personnel changes, current mission objectives, and/or time constraints. Ensure that aircraft flyaway kits, repair parts and other mission essential equipment are assembled and readied for shipment prior to aircraft deployment. Assist in the maintenance of ground handling and support equipment as necessary. Serves as the Contracting Officer's Technical Representative for contract aircraft maintenance on the P-3 aircraft. Perform inflight duties as P-3 Crew Chief, assisting Flight Engineer in completion of his duties to ensure the safety of the flight and accomplishment of the mission. Perform the duties as Aircraft Observer; trained in the use of all aircraft emergency/survival equipment and safety procedures.
