Work History

Engineering Technician III

S & ME
01.2014 - Current
  • Pre-Bid Evaluation: Determine coating adhesion, coating thickness, lead content, steel thickness, and suitability for re-coating. Identify by visual inspection deterioration of tank structural elements, operation concerns and sanitary issues. Identify coating application constraints such as antenna, adjacent development, parking areas, etc. Conduct tank washouts and tank disinfection in accordance with American Water Work Association (AWWA).
  • Coating Application Inspection: Attend Pre-Coating Application meetings to confirm all parties understand the specifications and requirements. Check all materials and equipment performance for compliance with specifications. During coating application, monitor application weather conditions (relative humidity and temperature), substrate preparation, coating application, monitored containment systems and other project requirements for conformance with specifications.
  • Welding: Projects ranging from simple process and mechanical piping to complex industrial and including pre-fabrication, on-site fabrication, repair, and installation. Familiar pipe materials include Steel (stainless, carbon, and alloys). Proficiency in reading and understanding blueprints.

Inspector

S & ME
01.2014 - Current
  • Responsible for observing and reporting the progress of the bridge rehabilitation
  • Duties included inspecting the surface preparation (abrasive blast to SSPC SP-10), recording DFT's (Dry Film Thickness) of each coat of the paint system and inspecting and measuring metal loss on the steel girders.
  • Inspector on re-coating of new and existing elevated and at-grade water tanks in accordance with SSPC, NACE, ASTM, AWS and AWWA guidelines and standards. Performed pre-bid tank evaluations which included testing coating properties for adhesion, thickness and lead content, visual identification of deterioration of tank structural elements, tank washout and disinfection, review for compliance with current OHSA requirements, sanitary issues, operational concerns, and suitability for re-coating. During coating application, monitor application weather conditions (relative humidity and temperature), substrate preparation, coating application, and other project requirements for conformance with specifications. Tank sizes ranged from 75,000 to 10.0 million-gallon capacity.
