  • I was assigned to FRCSW H-60 Integrated Maintenance Program as a depot level sheet metal and composite fabricator. I performed journeyman level work with minimum to no supervision on a mission ready team for the purpose of PMI 1&2 (Planned Maintenance Intervals) and ISR (In-Service Repair). On a daily basis, I performed a wide range of trade work such as, disassembly, assembly, troubleshooting, fabrication, and repairing composite and sheet metal components. I worked on various other aircraft as well including MH-60R, AH-1W, UH-1Y, Ch-53E, P-3, F-18, and V-22 in support of ISR for FRCSW. I received a special act award for completing a 700 hour estimated ISR in 350 hours. I removed and replaced the tail landing gear fittings and assembly on a MH-60R that was damaged from a hard landing. I also received another special act reward for outstanding job performance during our move between hangars from March through April 2017. I was part of a 3 man team that repaired a c-130 that was damaged by a fork lift. We cut out and replaced the frame around the rear upper cargo door.
  • I have extensive knowledge reading blueprints and schematics. I have extensive knowledge in the use of all hand tools, micro-meters, height, depth, and pressure gauges, power shears, power rollers, sheet metal brakes for bending metal using shop math and set back allowances, drill press, band saw, power shrinker and stretcher for making contours in metal, form blocks, fixtures and cut off saws. I can determine and implement methodical work processes to promote maintenance continuity to ensure a quality product. I comply with all safety, FOD control, and tool control requirements. I am familiar with maintenance instruction manuals and structural repair manuals. I can read, interpret and apply complex blueprints, sketches, technical data, engineering specifications and other directives as required to perform my job on a journeyman level.

  • Responsible for all airframe related maintenance, which includes composite repairs, hydraulic systems, flight control systems, landing gear, and all structural/sheet metal components. Duties include the following; perform phase maintenance, main gear box replacement, rotor head replacement, drive shaft shimming, air transport break-down and build-up, engine build-up and installation, aircraft painting, sheet metal and composite repair, a/c cleaning, and component removal and replacement on CH-53E helicopters. I was qualified as an airframe collateral duty quality assurance inspector (CDQAR). The majority of my repair time was on composite components such as engine cowlings, gearbox fairings, and a variety of interconnecting parts and components. I used vacuum bags along with all other composite repair tools. I fabricated composite molds, form blocks, straight and curved parts. I have experience with multiple types of composite resins and fabrics.

  • I performed layout, fabrication, and repairs of sheet metal and composite systems, assemblies, and sub-assemblies on naval aircraft components. Was tasked with training teammates on maintenance procedures and techniques. Able to work from blueprints, drawings, bulletins and manuals such as Structural Repair Manuals (SRM) and Maintenance Instruction Manuals (MIM). Responsible for the selection of tooling, materials and equipment required to complete each assigned task. Utilized all acceptable shop practices and tooling to include; metal brake, shears, shrinkers, stretchers, rollers, punches, crimpers, rivet squeezers, stamps, hand drills, drill presses, welders, plasma cutters, end mills, lathes, media blasters, and grinders. I have extensive experience in the use of hand tools such as micrometers, dials, depth gauges, hand shears, bucking bars, files, paint guns, and basic mechanic hand tools. Familiar with all types of aircraft fasteners, including hi-locs, riv-nuts, solid and blind rivets, and screws and bolts. I have the knowledge and skill for making layouts, patterns, and templates for all manner of repair. Supervised, instructed, and evaluated the performance of a team of five personnel.
  • Completed Airspeed yellow belt course and training while attached to FRC S/W as an active duty sailor. I’m familiar with Airspeed and AS9100/9110, 6S, and lean six sigma.
  • I adhere to the 6S Lean Program (Sort, Stabilize, Shine, Standardize, Sustain, and Safety) to ensure that my work area and my coworkers are safe, in order for us to effectively and efficiently complete our duties. I also follow NAVAIR and IMC standards for my assigned task and work area.
