Ran a pod of 3+ patients for 2-3 shifts per day. Entered, ordered, labeled and drew lab orders and speciman's. Accessed the patients fistula or graft before treatment and pulled needles at the end.

  • Checked patient vitals such as temperature, blood pressure and blood sugar levels.
  • Answered phones and questions from patients, doctors, hospitals, insurance companies, family members, etc. Transferred calls to appropriate departments or person.
  • Bleached the bicarb loop system every Tuesday, as well as the machines and acid tanks.
  • Made tanks of acid for dialysis when needed. Usually 2-3 times per week.
  • In charge of all patient education for the last 4 years. This included documenting, picking education topics, educating patients and obtaining signatures per company policy, for medical files.
  • Opened clinic most days of the week, which included opening the water room, checking levels of all gauges, setting up dialysis machines with lines, saline and patient information.
  • Closed the clinic and entered orders at the end of the day. As well as making seating assignments, pod assignments etc. using Microsoft word and Excel.
