Conduct intensive in-person and telephone interviews with the clients, client representatives, attorneys, and guardians, Recognize and recalculate incorrect payments of grants, food benefits, medical assistance, and Long-Term Services and Supports Provide professional case management. Input and receive data using multiple automated systems Analyze written and oral information received and legal documents. Interpret the Washington Administrative Code, Revised Code of Washington, procedural manuals, policies, and policy clarifications Use the statewide asset verification and real property database to analyze the impacts of real property transfers, quit claims, and sales, while using tools such as LTC manual, share point, and Washington State Legislature WAC's in order to insure correctness.

I started working as a Public Benefits Specialist 3 in the Spokane call center my duties included determining eligibility for basic food, TANF, family and children's medical, classic medical, and Adult cash programs. This position was fast paced and required the ability to interact with the public and determine eligibility correctly by using tools such as manuals, sharepoint, and Washington State Legislature WACS. I started working at Spokane Tribal TANF 2/1/16. My Duties include but was not limited to, training tribal employee on how to understand our systems so that they could easily understand where we verified information, this position required working independently to determine eligibility for Washington state benefits TANF, non-needy TANF, Basic food, diversion classic medical while utilizing applications such as Asset Verification System, Barcode, Aces 3g, Aces Online, Whales DOH, EBTEDGE, FORS, UTAB, EJAS. I was the only DSHS employee, so I was expected to be able to easily interpret program rules using WAC's using DSHS manuals. Work independently and accurately. I worked closely with the tribal caseworkers and Tribal authority's ensuring accurate information to ensure eligibility for Tribal TANF, also I was expected to analyze, interpret, and explained WAC codes and program rules regarding basic food, state TANF, classic medical, ABD to the Spokane Tribal Tanf employees in order to help them understand how to best coordinate tribal programs and state programs. I provide knowledge to the Tribal caseworkers regarding state resources and benefits.
