Leadership: Appoints county manager, county attorney and other key officials.

Policy making: Establishes policies, regulates land use and zoning.

Planning: Develops long-range plans for the county.

Services: Determines the level of services to provide.

Supervises a staff of 44 deputy and assistant clerks.

Conducts judicial hearings involving wills and estates, foreclosures, partitioning of land, claim and delivery, incompetency and guardianship.

Works with the district attorney, district court judges and superior court judges to ensure a smoothly operating court system.

Enforces state laws, testifies in court proceedings, investigates violations of criminal laws.

Supervises sworn and non-sworn personnel.

Conducts internal investigations.

Set work schedule for the district.
