Shipping Orders: Prepare outgoing shipments by packaging items securely. Label packages with correct shipping information, including addresses, and tracking numbers. Coordinate with carriers (e.g., UPS, FedEx) for the timely shipment of goods.
Inventory Management: Track inventory levels, and report shortages or discrepancies. Ensure all items are stored properly in the warehouse, and are easy to locate. Conduct regular stock counts and audits.
Documentation and record-keeping: Maintain accurate shipping and receiving logs. File the necessary paperwork for returns, exchanges, and damaged goods. Keep up with shipping receipts, invoices, and shipment tracking.
Warehouse Organization: Ensure that the warehouse is clean, organized, and safe for operation. Manage the flow of materials to appropriate storage areas. Ensure that hazardous or sensitive materials are handled according to safety guidelines.
Quality Control: Inspect and verify that goods meet quality standards before shipping or receiving. Work with other departments to resolve product quality issues.
Customer Service: Handle customer inquiries regarding shipping status, delivery issues, or product availability. Coordinate returns or exchanges as needed.
Coordination with Other Departments: Collaborate with purchasing, sales, and production teams to ensure timely order fulfillment. Communicate any shipping delays or discrepancies to relevant teams.
Equipment Handling: Operate warehouse equipment, such as forklifts, pallet jacks, or other machinery, for moving goods.
Safety Compliance: Adhere to safety protocols when handling shipments, or operating equipment. Report any safety hazards or accidents promptly.
