Airframe familiarity F-15, F-16, C-130, fighter and cargo aircraft
I troubleshot, changed, and performed operational checks on aircraft pre- and post-flight. Some unique tasks included blueprint and technical diagram reading, fire and hazardous material protection, electrical equipment testing, measurement and calibration, and fuel handling and distribution. Familiarity with an airfield layout and setting. During deployments, I was entrusted as the security manager, creating different situations for protecting high-value assets, including aircraft and buildings. While in charge of this, I was also in charge of my work center for aircraft maintenance and building upkeep. While deployed and running a minimally manned shop, I would also coordinate any training required, and coordinate between different shops for the usage of the maintenance hangar. Daily actions involved leading, supervising, and instructing individuals on the work schedule. Common tasks consisted of using a computer to direct, order, and schedule the maintenance of aircraft while maintaining a back stock of aircraft parts. At times, I would direct teams through two-way radio communication. On a rotating basis, I would be in charge of the tool support section, consisting of tool control, inspections, and the issuing and turn-in of toolboxes and individual issue items. As a Sergeant in the Air Force, I would mentor, train, and evaluate new members for a successful military career.
