When I first started, I was labeled as a stower. I was tasked with opening boxes and scanning the items into the pods that arrived at my assigned area. When working at Amazon, I TDR'd the trailers at the appointed dock doors, and also unloaded all the boxes within the trailer using the Gorbel Destuff-It machine. At times, when I was not using the machine, I would build pallets and stage them at our appointed staging areas.
As a painter, there's a whole process to doing a job, a bit time-consuming, but it made sure it was done efficiently. Every job is always different, but the process is always similar: First, we must go over what needs to be done and who will do what part of the job to make things simple. Secondly, make sure we prepare the area to avoid damaging our customer's belongings. We must tape and mask anything that will or may get paint on it. Third, we must prep the wall or area we are painting to ensure it looks good when painting. This includes fixing holes, using plaster, and sanding. The last two are just painting well, and cleaning even better, to keep customers happy.
I scanned and sorted the packages into bags for the delivery drivers to have their packages organized when on their delivery route. Also assisted in unloading the pallets with packages from trailers and getting the packages on conveyors to be labeled and sorted.
