• My job at Argos USA/Summit Materials, as a ready-mix driver, involves conducting daily DOT pre-trip inspections according to a set checklist. Also, my job is to deliver concrete in a safe and efficient manner; our safety and customers are our priority. As drivers, we must ensure we are using our Smith System training when we are out on the road, as well as on job sites. It is very important to us to follow these keys because they can cause an accident. During my time here with Argos, I have trained to become a backup batch plant operator. My role as a plant operator is to, every morning, go over drivers' DVRS, make sure the driver is driving a safe truck, and also ensure that all drivers and personnel are wearing all PPE before stepping foot on the property. Safety first! And also perform daily inspections of plant systems, identifying potential problems, and taking corrective action as needed. My role is to also make sure I monitor inventory levels of bulk materials and aggregate materials used in the production process, and place orders as needed for replenishment purposes. We also make sure we take care of our inventory at the end of each shift; that way, by the end of each month, our inventory is on track. It is also important that you have a good relationship with each customer, and Drivers we value our customers and drivers.

My job with A&L was to conduct daily DOT pre-trip inspections according to a set checklist. My job there was also to deliver concrete in a safe and professional manner. My role there was as a floater, moving from the mixer truck, to the loader, and then to the dump truck. My task as a loader operator there was to receive sand haulers, rock haulers, and load our bins. Also, it involved loading dump trucks with material. Another task I had there was to drive a dump truck to deliver road base material to customers, and pick up material for the company if needed.

My job with Cantex Inc. As a lead operator in what's called the blending department. My task as the lead operator there was to make sure everyone was wearing their PPE, as it was a loud and dusty environment. Also, I was to make sure that everyone there was doing their jobs and staying safe. I had the role of ensuring that compound production was being met every day and produced. My job also consisted of performing daily maintenance checks and troubleshooting equipment malfunctions, cleaning and lubricating equipment on regular schedules to maintain the life of machinery and achieve consistent operations. I also dealt with ordering materials and supplies when inventory was getting low, and I also did inventory at the end of every month.
