Operations Specialist

Kelly Services
Freeport, TX
03.2011 - 11.2021

Was brought in by Dow operations via Kelly services to restart a process that had been cleared and mothballed for a year due to production demand. After training folks and preparing plant for restart it was determined to demolish facility due to demand. Was in charge of getting plant completely cleared, isolated and ready for demolition.

Help in a 2012 major turnaround with sister plant with issuing safe work permits which involved confined space entries, hot work, life critical guards, hydro-blasting, line and equipment opening.

Once turnaround was completed on sister plant and demolition was completed on other plant. I was assigned by plant leader to take the role of the operations pitstop and turnaround representative.

This new role was to help the plant improve the process of doing its quarterly pit-stops. To help improve/stream-line the process in getting ready for the next major turnaround. Involved planning and coordination with maintenance groups/contracting companies to develop, plan and coordinate maintenance job plans.

2018 Major Turnaround was successful from the maintenance stand-point. Job plans, coordination and logistics were ready prior to start of turnaround. Execution was excellent.

Late 2018 to November 2021 was assigned role by plant leader to develop and train operations on how to properly isolate equipment for maintenance prior to starting work. Followed and looked at all isolations to determine where problems were being encountered and what would take to solve problems. After looking at hundreds of isolations, following operations during clearing, isolating and hanging of lock outs/tags developed strategy/training for isolating of equipment. Involving P&IDs, graphics, field verification and 2nd set of eyes.
