I am a 15 yr old High School Student of mixed heritage living in Bali, Indonesia. My father is an artist, architect & builder and my mom is an event producer. My experience of living within the Balinese community & learning the traditional architecture and arts along with having friends in the global expat community have made me a well rounded kid who wants to learn & grow my skills to help others around the world.

Since I was a child I have been making ogoh-ogoh which are large scale puppets that are used as symbols in the annual Balinese Ceremony called NYEPI.
In my spare time I made mini ones to use as models for the larger ones, which are 3-5 meters tall.
"I started by making a movable leg out of popsicle sticks, and wooden skewers I found in a drawer in my kitchen. I build the hydraulics by putting two syringes (one on the leg to move it up and down, and one on the base) connected by a small house i bought from a fish tank store and filled one syringe with water in the fully pulled position while the other was in the fully pushed position. With this I could pull the one with no water to push the one with water in.
I taped them with masking tape to the leg and the base. I then built the torso of the statue which turned out to be too heavy, so I had to add more sticks to make the leg more strong and built the torso and upper body out of skewers to minimize the weight."
Coming from a village in Bali to Camp Killooleet I learned how to adapt to a new culture and how to work in teams. I joined the maintenance crew and learned how to fix bikes. I also worked in the art department with Soldering silver and other metals.
