Providing care during ante-partum, labor/delivery, post-partum and newborn stages. Monitoring labor progress through interpretation of electronic fetal/contraction monitoring. Initiating interventions as appropriate. Acting as a circulating nurse in the OR for cesarean deliveries and obstetric emergencies. Managing pre, intra-,and post-operative recovery care. Managing high risk obstetrical conditions such as pre-eclampsia, post-partum hemorrhage, uterine rupture, cord prolapse, shoulder dystocia, gestational diabetes, multiple fetuses, and HIV patients. IV therapy and medication administration. Patient and family education. EMR documentation in EPIC.

Assisting Children and adolescent population with the understanding of emotional disturbances/trauma. Medication administration/monitoring of medications and reactions to. Lab draws. Behavior de-escalation. Collaboration with counselors, therapist, social workers and MD providers to modify treatment plans based on behavior/response to medication and therapy. Ensuring patient remains safe/stable with end goals of patient becoming self sufficient with successful acclimation back to home, school, and positive day to day interactions with peers/family and general population. Documentation in EMR in Meditech.

Review/manage labor progress. Electronic fetal monitoring/contraction interpretation. Initiating appropriate interventions when necessary. Circulating nurse in OR/recovery for cesarean deliveries/OB emergencies, pre-, intra, and recovery care. Managing obstetrical conditions including but not limited to pre-eclampsia, post-partum hemorrhage, uterine rupture , cord prolapse, gestational diabetes, multiple fetuses and HIV patients. Management of high-risk OB patients in labor/delivery. Communicating patient data/status updates/collaboration with appropriate providers. Initiating appropriate plan of cares/interventions based on collaboration with appropriate team members.

Ability to acclimate quickly to labor and delivery unit policies and protocols. Provide care during ante-partum, labor/delivery, post-partum, and newborn stages of care. Managing high risk pregnancies for a Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. Monitor labor progress, Interpretation of electronic fetal monitoring/contraction patterns. Initiated appropriate interventions based on interpretation of fetal monitoring data. Circulating nurse in OR for cesarean deliveries and OB emergencies. Recovery of post-op patients. Manage obstetrical conditions including but not limited to pre-eclampsia, post-partum hemorrhage, uterine rupture, cord prolapse, gestational diabetes, and multiple fetuses. Assessing/managing multiple ante-partum/triage patients. Communicating/collaborating with OB providers in regards to patient assessment. Initiating appropriate care/interventions, educating, admitting and or discharging as appropriate. Provide support and education to new travel staff and student nurses on unit.

Managing care of hysterectomy patients. Collaborate with OB GYN, midwives, anesthesiologist and special care RN/Neonatal Nurse Practitioner to ensure optimal outcomes. Coordinating/managing mock codes for labor/delivery and neonatal resuscitation. Educate patients/family on labor progression, pain management options, and post-partum care and breast feeding.
