As a Surgical Technician, I worked the O.R. Control Desk at Loma

Linda VA, managing all incoming calls, with demanding, continu-

ous communication skills, by reading the schedule for surgeons, nursing -staff, related departments and Red's. Providing them with patient up-dates on pacific information pertaining to their case, including the most recent postings of all add-on's and cancellations. Medical Terminology is a must, and required throughout the day, with accurate written and verbal skills in

each and every service. As a team member I worked to assist in

contributing to efficiency and operative results. By implementing

a strong team approach and individualize intervention in patient healthcare, it improved, and effected progress in recovery time.

I assist surgeon and team, scrubbed all surgical procedures, setting-up the OR suite and surgical field with equipment,

specialized trays, instrumentation and sterile packs, accord-

ing to the surgeon's preference card. I anticipated surgeon

needs during surgery, provided the necessary supplies and instruments, promptly. Accurately maintaining the count throughout the appointed time slots. Surgeries such as Tubal Ligation, C-Section, Hysterectomy and Vaginal Delivery were adhered to by hospital policies and procedures, regarding infection control and sterilization practices. Stocking the OR

Delivery Room, pre-op, and post-op rooms were included

in making preparation for both mother and baby, for delivery,

and recovery time by administering support as needed.

Demonstrated strong organizational and time management skills while managing multiple projects.

During the time I worked for the Long Beach VA Healthcare System, I managed the Operating Room at night, setting-up ten OR suites for the next day. Scrubbing all emergency cases from 11:00pm until 7:00am, which was the completion of my shift. If there were no emergency, every room had to be stocked for that particular case and service, with specialize Trays, Equipment,

Instrumentation, Supplies, and Sterile Packs. Each service had

their own permanent and designated room, General, Neuro,

Thoracic, Vascular, Ortho, Urology, Plastics, and Eyes. I also

developed the ability to work well with team members, under

pressure or adverse circumstances, administering, high-quality

patient care, enhancing safety and protocols as needed. Non-

Squeamish, with a willingness to learn, I practiced organiza-

tional skills, time management and problem solving to maxi-

mize my work ethics.Created safe operating environments for invasive and non-invasive procedures.
