Hello! I am a proud graduate of the University of Houston, earning a Bachelor of Science in Public Health with a minor in Human Development and Family Sciences. Driven by a deep passion for healthcare, I have cultivated diverse experiences across the field. My journey has included serving as an AmeriCorps Maternal and Child Health Specialist at Legacy Community Health, where I provided prenatal education through the Becoming A Mom program, and as a Medical Assistant in a few clinics in different specialties with numerous duties.
With a strong foundation in patient education and clinical care, I am now preparing to apply to post-baccalaureate Nursing programs to continue advancing my commitment to improving patient outcomes and promoting community health.
I earned the AmeriCorps Education Award after completing my internship and required service hours as a Maternal and Child Health Specialist with Legacy Community Health. AmeriCorps is a national service program focused on meeting critical community needs across the United States. Through this role, I gained hands-on experience in public health, assisting with patient education, outreach, and prenatal care through the Becoming A Mom program. This opportunity allowed me to make a meaningful impact on maternal and child health while expanding my knowledge of community-centered healthcare.
