During my years in high school, I amassed over 500 hours of community service work as a member of the volunteer class. In this class, we collaborated to plan, organize, and execute various volunteer opportunities for our school and community. Throughout the year, we dedicated ourselves to making a positive impact. We engaged with numerous organizations in the Kansas area, participated in food drives, aided teachers, and rotated weekly shifts at our local food pantry. Additionally, we regularly volunteered at elementary schools in our city every Monday and Friday. Furthermore, each of us was paired with a grandparent from our community. Every Tuesday, we visited our designated grandparents, assisting them with tasks like baking, puzzles, engaging in conversations, and household chores. This experience allowed me to cultivate meaningful connections and contribute significantly to my community. I also dedicated my time before and after school to tutoring kids of different age levels independently. This experience not only allowed me to give back to the community but also provided me with an opportunity to work and gain valuable experience in my passion for teaching.
