  • In December of 2018 I resigned my full time position as a School Based Therapist in order to offer full time caregiving to a family member who passed in 2024

  • As a School Based Therapist I was charged with meeting the therapeutic and emotional needs of the clients referred to me by the schools teachers or administrators
  • In this remote position without administrative support I was task with contacting the students caregivers, creating and doing intake appointments, maintaining all documentation to company and insurance standards, keeping documentation and records up to date on each client with caregiver meetings every six (6) months, meeting required company therapeutic hours, communicating with the students other providers such as primary care physicians and occupational therapists, coordinating with other school staff in creating Federally implemented supports such as IEPs and 504s, returning caregiver phone calls and emails
  • In addition to the above listed tasks I also worked to accurately diagnose and treat the presenting behaviors and needs of the clients, intervene in any crisis situations which were presented either inside or outside of the school setting, write and implement safety plans for students with varying ideations, report dangerous living circumstances to the appropriate authorities, and make timely decisions when faced with a client needing the additional support of hospitalization
