Biography

Dr. Petermann currently works full-time as a member of the leadership team for a community hospital and an adjunct instructor for multiple universities. Her career in the medical field started as a phlebotomist in a rural hospital that consisted of on-the-job training. Once the decision was made to become a nurse, she worked as a nurse's aide and home health aide while completing her associate degree in applied sciences of nursing. For many years she worked as a telemetry, emergency room and homecare/ hospice nurse. She went on to attend Chamberlain School of Nursing and obtained her bachelor's degree and then her master's degree in Executive Nursing, which propelled her into a management position, and eventually a leadership and educational role. Recently she has completed her Doctorate of Nurse Practice in Leadership.Her great passion for education stems from a great enjoyment felt with helping others achieve their goals and succeed. Education also helps to mold our newest healthcare members and assure a strong commitment to our patients and our profession. Education also assists in keeping her rooted in evidence-based research, allowing improved patient care and staff satisfaction. She has won awards and honors for her diversity and veterans volunteer work. She also holds certifications in teaching, life support, and FEMA.
