Our lab focuses on developing novel, cost-effective methods to concentrate foodborne viruses, such as human norovirus, from food and environmental samples to improve detection. I will work under a graduate student, contributing to research projects that explore virus isolation techniques, such as using magnetic beads and bacteria. Our work centers on enhancing virus concentration methods to improve food safety and address the global public health and economic burden caused by foodborne viruses.
