My role here is to be responsible for putting together a dental treatment plan of procedures the doctor has diagnosed, going over the cost of their dental treatment with the patient, and helping them in any way to get scheduled for it, such as setting up payment plans and answering any questions they may have about the procedures or the process of getting dental work done. Getting the patients checked out, making sure they are on the schedule for their next dental cleaning, and getting them scheduled for their dental procedure at a time that works best for them with the correct provider, calling, and following up with patients who did not schedule their dental procedures, and answering any questions or concerns they might still have about the procedure. Coordinated patient referrals to specialists and other healthcare services. All while making sure I have a warm and positive attitude with the patients to ensure they feel comfortable, secure, and satisfied at the office.

With this role, I was mainly responsible for keeping the whole schedule for the office full. To achieve that, I kept a list of patients who canceled at the last minute for their treatment or cleanings, did not schedule for their dental treatment, or were overdue for their dental cleanings. As soon as an opening came up, I would call patients on my list to get any holes in the schedule filled last minute. Checking out all patients and collecting for their dental appointment, whether it was their co-pay for their cleaning or their co-pay for their dental treatment, making sure they are scheduled for their next dental cleaning, or if they were getting scheduled for treatment, they were getting scheduled properly at the correct times and days with the doctor. Answering phone calls helping patients get scheduled if needed or transferring them to the correct department as far as, billing, insurance coordinator, or new patient coordinator.

Having this role, my sole responsibility was to ensure our hygienists' hygiene schedule was full and efficient. To achieve this, I maintained lists of patients who were past due for their dental cleanings, called patients to follow up, and scheduled them for a time that coordinated with their schedules. I answered any questions they had and helped them feel at ease about coming in for their dental appointments. Checking in all patients, making sure that they get updated health history as needed, updated insurance information as needed, and sign any consent forms that were needed for their procedure that day. Auditing all hygiene appointments, making sure the patient was staying up to date with any dental procedures as needed, including x-rays, exams, or fluoride. Verifying updated insurance for patients as well, ensuring the patients' plan is up to date and added correctly, as far as maximums, deductibles, frequencies, and any waiting period the plan might have had, and creating a breakdown of benefits of the plan to properly utilize their insurance in the office. All while keeping a positive attitude and a smile on my face to help maintain a warm and friendly workplace for the office.
