  • After graduating from nursing school in 1991 I was commissioned into the Navy Nurse Corp where I worked in cardiac care stepdown before returning to the operating room
  • In the 1990’s it was not uncommon for surgeons to do colonoscopies and EGDs which was my first exposure to endoscopic procedures and scope processing
  • I transferred overseas and was involved in significantly more endoscopic procedures while still working in the operating room and recovery
  • When I returned stateside I was primarily in the operating room and recovery
  • I retired from the US Navy in 2007.
