Awards
On March 31st, 2023 the Commanding Officer of 1st Battalion, 1st Marines awarded me the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal for what he deemed as outstanding performance of my duties as a Scout Sniper team leader during a service-level training exercise from January 15th to February 28th 2023. During the exercise I distinguished myself by displaying tactical understanding and a capacity for planning beyond my rank. I led my team in the prosecution of dozens of enemy positions, all while timely and accurately reporting on enemy activity and terrain to the battalion. Between missions, I led my platoon in classes on fieldcraft and communications, increasing the lethality and survivability of my men. My initiative and tactical prowess correlated directly to the success of the battalion.
