    Answering Phone Calls: The job of a receptionists is to take calls and forward them to different departments or to specific persons.
    Handling Inquiries: These are often used to offer simple information over the phone including details of course schedules, any events, faculty or staff members’ details among others.
  • Scheduling and Appointments
    Booking Appointments: They handle schedules for college administrators, counselor, or other employees or a specific business so that any meeting is properly scheduled and all concerned parties are aware of it.
    Room Reservations: Some of them can book rooms for meetings, events or classes to be held within the college.
  • Administrative Support
    Data Entry: The receptionist might regularly input or modify students’ data, attendance or any other data for the college’s use into their system.
    Document Management: These are sometime involved in document filing, photocopying documents and distribution of such documents to the various departments that may require them.

    Mail Distribution: They receive, sort and distribute mails both incoming and outgoing so as to reach the intended members.
