Experience

During my senior year I prepared for student teaching at the CPS school Galileo Scholastic Academy of Math and Science located in Little Italy. I started here in the Fall of 2023 and I began officially student teaching in the Spring of 2024. I was placed in a 2nd grade classroom. Here at Galileo I got the privilege of working with an experienced mentor, collaborating with amazing teachers, and building relationships with students.

Aside from student teaching, I am completing my first year as a 2nd grade teacher at Parkwood Elementary School. My time at Parkwood has been memorable as it has allowed me to navigate my way through my first year. I was fortunate to have amazing support, teachers to lean on and teachers to learn from. From this experience I have learned more about myself personally and as an educator. My first year was more than just lesson planning, it was about building relationships, understanding my students, and most importantly, learning how to reflect on myself and how I can improve.
