

A proficient Ergonomic Technical Specialist, Ms. Brazier excels in strategic planning, ergonomic analysis tools and methods, development and deployment of global strategies, processes and spearheads ergonomic training in the Powertrain Division at Ford Motor Company. Her ability to foster collaboration through utilization strong interpersonal and communication skills, combined with her academic credentials and CPE designation, enable her to lead, drive alignment and execute a proactive ergonomics process. Ms. Brazier is passionate about the field of ergonomics and driving ergonomically sound processes based on research and data with a commitment to continuous improvement.
Ms. Brazier has direct responsibility for managing the global powertrain manufacturing ergonomics process, which includes the Core Ergo Team located in Michigan, as well as global team of regional subject matter experts for alignment and consistency throughout the Powertrain Division. While in this position, a key accomplishment has been the development and continuous improvement of the Global Ergonomics Strategy and Procedure, which defines and standardizes the processes to proactively and consistently assess for ergonomics, which plays a critical in communicating clear and consistent information across the global organization. Ms. Brazier has led the development, management and deployment of global ergonomics training. Training and communication is vital to drive awareness, alignment and consistency. Ergo processes, guidelines, work methods, assessment tools and emerging technologies are areas of focus.
Ms. Brazier started her career as an Ergonomic Engineer at Ford Motor Company in January, 2001. Responsibilities included the ergonomic support of the launch of the numerous vehicles. Ms. Brazier proactively identified and assessed ergonomic risk to the Operator. In addition, she conducted ergonomic risk factor identification training to the hourly Product Specialists as well as Design and Release, Suppliers and Manufacturing Engineers.Ms. Brazier takes decisive action, based on ergonomic data and works well with all levels of management through establishing strong working relationships through exceptional communication skills, fostering trust and collaboration.
In 1998, Ms. Brazier began a full time ergonomic position at Chrysler, as a Plant Ergonomist at The Windsor Assembly Plant (home of the Minivan). Ms. Brazier completed ergo state mapping throughout the Final, Paint and Body Departments of the Windsor Assembly Plant. The workstations were analyzed using such ergonomic analysis tools as; UofM 3D, RULA, Mital and Snook tables. She worked very closely on yearly Engineering Rebalance Optimization. In addition, Ms. Brazier was responsible for providing ergonomic input and feedback and supplier buyoffs for ergo arms, fixtures and tooling. In 2000, Ms. Brazier received a promotion within DaimlerChrysler as the Regional Ergonomist for the Windsor region, with responsibilities that included proactive identification and resolution of ergonomic concerns, upfront, proactive ergonomic analyses for the vehicles to be manufactured at the Pillette Van Plant and The Windsor Assembly Plant. Ms. Brazier was responsible for training the Launch team on ergonomic risk factors and methods to reduce risk to the Operator. She assisted in the development of the Chrysler corporate strategies in the development of a Risk Assessment Checklist, which was used by the plant ergonomic committee members as a first-filter to assess Ergonomic Risk level.
Ms. Brazier started her career in Ergonomics at Proactive Ergonomic Concepts, an ergonomic consulting company, while attending The University of Windsor as a full time student. During this time she worked in a variety of settings (The Windsor Star Newspaper, Windsor Fire Department and Rescue Services, Hotel Dieu Grace Hospital, Peregrine-Windsor and Gates Power Drive). Ms. Brazier spent the majority of her time on-site for Lear Corporation and was responsible for the assessment and analysis of various ergonomic workstations and the completion of Physical Demands Analyses (PDA's). Ms. Brazier trained line Operators and Design Engineers on the ergonomic risk factors and methods to reduce risk to the Operator.Self-motivated, with a strong sense of personal responsibility.

On March 26, 2024, at the Institute of Industrial and Systems Engineers (IISE) Applied Ergonomics Conference, Ms. Brazier was nominated by peers and recognized as Ergonomic Practitioner of the Year. Sponsored by Liberty Mutual Insurance Co., this award recognizes achievements in the creative application of ergonomics, including process improvement, education, applied instrumentation and product development.
