• My responsibility was to open the office and prepare the space for the scheduled claimant as well as to check the claimants in to their scheduled appointment, collect a pointed medical history of the present illness or injury causing each disabling condition, and collect a set of vitals including blood pressure, heart rate, and any other necessary examination component required.

• Bridge Support Services, LLC is a provider established in Gorham, Maine specializing in residential treatment facilities, mental retardation and/or developmental disabilities
• As a certified staff, I provide an array of direct support services to improve the quality of life for over 20 individuals in their communities.

• I worked in the Bateman lab which studies how chromosomes are organized
  within the three-dimensional space of the nucleus, and, in particular, how
  physical interactions between chromosomes can influence gene expression.
  We focused on Drosophila melanogaster in part because there is extensive
  pairing between homologous chromosomes in this system, which provided
  us with a simple model to study interchromosomal interactions. Other
  projects branch out into the development of new genetic technologies and
  resources for the Drosophila research community.
• Supported staff members in their daily tasks, reducing workload burden and allowing for increased focus on higher-priority assignments.
• Utilized strong communication abilities during presentations which led to increased understanding among colleagues regarding project goals and objectives.

I volunteered as an ambassador in the mother-baby unit. My responsibility was to participate in the transportation and needs of
identified patient discharges, to round on patients and families in support of
improving the overall patient/family experience, and I was the Patient/Medical
Center liaison where I reported concerns back to the Nurse Director/Nurse,
Manager/Clinical Nurse Leader. I also offered emotional support to patients
and families.

• In order to get used to working in a hospital environment, I decided to volunteer in the Hospital Elder Life Program (HELP) at Maine Medical Center in Portland, where my role was to actively participate in a program designed to decrease complications of confusion and functional(physical) decline in patients over 70.

• While at Longview High School, I have been a member of the HOSA Club which has as its purpose creating career opportunities in the healthcare industry and enhancing the delivery of quality healthcare to all people
• This ties in with my career path of wanting to become a nurse
• Another club that I was a member of was the Zonta Club, a group of girls committed to improving the legal, economic, educational, and health care status of women in Africa
• I was born with a love of learning and an ambition to help people and meet their needs
• That is why I chose to go an extra mile in life.
