• My dissertation was used by the Bureau of Land Management. There were so many abandoned mines in the southwest, that the Bureau needed to develop an effective methodology to find and close the contaminated and dangerous mine sites, and remediate the area to make it safe for multiple public land use. My dissertation project became the national standard; requiring all states to use the methodology I'd created.
