I am a Certified Substitute Teacher with over seven years of experience instructing in K-6 classrooms. Enthusiastic, creative and adaptable to institutional needs. Encouraging and compassionate approach fostering positive learning environments. I am committed to following the lessons plans, while also being very flexible in order to meet the needs of all students. I have always been a hard working and dedicated teacher.
As a substitute teacher I create an encouraging learning environment for students while their regular teacher is absent. I effectively manage and instruct the class from the time the students enter the classroom through tidying up the to be sure it's ready for the teacher's return. Some of my responsibilities include following lesson plans provided, to insure consistency for students. I encourage student participation and minimize distractions to provide a positive, productive learning atmosphere. when needed I supervise student in and out of the classroom, including in halls, on the playground and in the cafeteria.
As a long-term sub I worked with the grade level team which enabled me to create lesson plans following the required curriculum, attend meetings, evaluate students and create report cards, meet with parents as needed and conduct parent/teacher conferences.
My responsibilities at Litchfield Elementary School District are the same as at Peoria Unified School District.
I accepted new resident applications and fostered community relationships to improve resident satisfaction through community activities. I reported and documented maintenance requests and scheduled appropriate services; sometimes actually doing the light maintenance myself. I collected, recorded and deposited monthly rents from tenants.
I card for my grandchildren while my son and daughter-in-law attended Utah State University.
I am including this only to account for this time on my resume.
I started as managing and running the student snack bar; this included planning, budgeting, shopping and working in the snackbar. This included supervising the teens when they worked in the snack bar.
When the opportunity arose I was promoted to Kinder Coordinator.
In this position I was responsibility for the curriculum. Because this was an after school program I created an active and fun learning program including science, math, language arts, STEM, Positive Sprouts (the garden club). I implemented a Nationally funded program to encourage
diversity, kindness and appropriate behavior.
Created lesson plans implementing state wide curriculum, making sure to fit the needs of each student. This includes teaching basic skills including letters, numbers, natural and social science, music, art, literature, and behavioral skills to advance their physical, mental and social development and maximize their potential in a positive and safe environment.
Beyond this, as you know, my responsibilities to my students and their families were endless.
To explain the time between teaching Kindergarten in Seratoga and working for the Boys & Girls Club in Laguna Beach, I cared for my mother.
I think my greatest skill is working with children and I enjoy being a team player with other teachers
