In 1988 I earned a culinary arts degree from South Seattle Community College’ Culinary Arts School.
Having earned a culinary arts degree, I immediately sought employment at high profile restaurants in Seattle Washington, with full intension of expanding on the culinary degree I had earned my goal was to gain hands on experience in the profession I had chosen. I secured employment at Seattle’s Columbia tower club and their associate club in Bellevue Washington, The Lakes Club. I am proud to share with you that I, while at the Columbia Tower Club in Seattle, was voted employee of the year.
In 1992, I opened my own restaurant, Dulces Latin Bistro, which I successfully ran until I sold the restaurant in 2014.
I, upon graduating from South Seattle Community College, set out to add to my degree, the skills of culinary creativity, the discipline of Kitchen management and the understanding of customer satisfaction and expectations. I am proud to say that I accomplished the goals I set for myself as a trained chef.
I am confident that my culinary skill set and abilities qualify me for your consideration. And I wish to add that there are many Chef classifications, I, am a Head Chef.
Head Chef: The title given to the Executive Chef or Chef de Cuisine of a small to medium sized operation. He or she is responsible for planning menus, liaising with suppliers, controlling budgets and managing staff. Normally you would not find a Head Chef and an Executive Chef in the same establishment.
