Over 30 years of experience at a medium-sized community hospital, providing anesthesia services across various surgical specialties, excluding organ transplant. Served as Chair of the Anesthesia department. Responsibilities over the years have included scheduling anesthesia staffing, recruiting new staff, and actively participating in medical staff committees. Expertise extends beyond the operating room conducting patient assessments and deliver comprehensive care from pre-op to post-op units. Collaborated closely with surgical teams and patient primary care physicians, excelled in developing personalized care plans that prioritize patient well-being.
University of Utah Medical center is a Level 3 Trauma center, with a 4 state referral base in the Intermountain West. Training included all aspects of anesthesia including organ transplant, SICU, Chronic pain, Burn care, Cardiothoracic and the more routine surgical procedures. Rotations included ambulatory care, VA Hospital and Primary Children's Hospital.
Transitional Internship with 3 month rotations in General surgery/Trauma, Pediatric ICU, Obstetrics and Internal Medicine.
Emanuel hospital is a major trauma center, dealing with penetrating trauma (knife and gun), MVAs and agricultural injuries. This provided a major foundation in complex anesthesia and surgical care.
I spend my personal time in the outdoors as much as possible. My dogs accompany me hiking, fishing, and camping. I am an avid skier, both downhill and cross country. Swimming and Pilates keep me fit and flexible. Adventure travel has taken me to Fiji, Equador, Costa Rica, among many others. I am an amateur nature photographer.
