I began working part time at 18 years old and immediately felt attracted to the opportunity to provide a level of service that left people feeling better about how their day was going. I also learned that if I followed proper procedure and demonstrated good time management, the opportunity to impact people would only grow. Since that first job, I knew that going into the medical field where my work directly impacted someone's life was something I needed to work toward. I spent two years pursuing a degree in nursing, however I had to restart my progress toward a degree when I moved to Idaho in 2022. Although having to restart my educational journey, I have maintained a strong work ethic both inside and outside of the classroom. Throughout my college education, I have consistently demonstrated strong academic performance while balancing work and other responsibilities. My commitment to learning and ability to overcome challenges reflect my drive to succeed in both the classroom and clinical settings. Outside of the classroom, I previously spent two years as a nanny for two children from a troubled background. During that time, I focused on teaching appropriate behavior and emotional regulation through consistent accountability and compassionate support. I’m proud to have positively influenced their development and built a foundation of trust and stability. Over the past year, I have expanded my experience by working at St. Luke’s Hospital on the Mother-Baby Unit. In this role, I provide hands-on care to postpartum mothers and newborns, assist with daily hygiene and vital signs, support breastfeeding and bonding, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure safe, family-centered care. Now 25 years old, I look forward to combining my academic background, real-world caregiving experience, and commitment to compassionate service in a lifelong career in the medical field.
