My name is Julio Perez, I'm 17 years old, and will soon graduate from El Capitan High School. I've had 8 years of voluntary work experience and am aware of what is expected from me as an employee to be a great asset in any workplace. My main skills are customer service, money handling, using a cash register, and being bilingual and biliterate in Spanish/English allowing me to assist a larger number of customers.
El Changarrito was a grocery store previously owned by my parents. Around age 8, they started taking me to the store and taught me cleaning skills, how to face merchandise, how to use a cash register, money handling skills, and most importantly customer service. At El Changarrito we strived to offer the best customer service possible. I was a volunteer at El Changarrito from 2015-2022. Throughout those 7 years of experience, I gained a lot of knowledge on how a business works, as well as knowing what it's like to be in a job environment. Volunteering at El Changarrito has made me aware of what is expected from an employee. For example, being responsible, showing up on time, offering exceptional customer service, and holding yourself accountable for the amount hours you agreed to work.
