• Acquired all equipment and supplies needed.
• Transporting infant from the hospital then to all appointments.
• Talked with the babies mother and arranged a visit right away.
• Work well with all social workers, and follow all the rules, while advocating for the baby.
• Worked to get the baby to a healthy and stable level.
• Work well with the babies family, by earning their trust, and creating a safe and nurturing environment. I also encourage them in their journey to sobriety and getting their baby returned to them.
• Work well with all the medical team to make sure the baby gets all the support and resources needed.
• Helped reunify birth families through coordinated visitation strategies.
• Offered extensive care to troubled older children without likelihood of adoption. Taking many classes over the years and attending many therapy sessions learning how to help the child.
• Reduced problem behaviors with positive reinforcement and supportive techniques.
• Cared for medically fragile children in need of extensive support including feeding tubes, apnea monitors, braces or casts. Most infants I get have extensive fetal drug and alcohol exposure and require precise support.
• Documented data and completed accurate updates to case records including behavior charts and medication charts.
• Collaborated with community program leaders and advocates to make resources accessible to those in need.

I continued to have the same work experience as I did in California.

Once a month this committee reviews every foster child's case in our County. We make sure all the social workers are doing what they should do and that the parents, children and caregivers are getting everything they need in order to succeed. We then give our report to the judge overseeing each case.

I receive the cases to review for that month, beforehand, and read each case through.
During the meeting I listen to social workers, CASA, the parents and the children's attorney. I ask question as necessary then we report our conclusions.

It is a privilege to be chosen for this and an honor to work with other community members. This is an unpaid position.
